Linguistic racism is considered a form of discrimination. In the 2021 BBC article, Christine Ro addressed the pervasive issue of linguistic racism, highlighting that certain speakers face judgment based on their nationality or race when speaking English internationally. While European English speakers are often perceived as sophisticated and stylish, English spoken by Asians, Africans, or Middle Easterners may unfortunately be viewed as unpleasant.

“Sync-nonym” is a product design project rooted in a real customer experience where a lack of comprehension of work-related jargon nearly jeopardized her career. The project utilized visual design to aid individuals, particularly those for whom English is a second language, in expanding their English vocabulary, especially within the workplace.
